Since its creation, the G90 has exploded onto the cycling market, making it one of the most influential jerseys to date. This jersey was originally created by combining two commonly known categories: the “racing” jersey and the “beetle” jersey. Now it has its own identity and principles. In this video, we wanted to communicate beyond the tangible ("the what") and convey the design sentiment behind the product ("the why"). We want to tell real stories of real cyclists who embody the G90.

We set out to speak with those closest to the brand that the G90 represents. Santiago Toro, the owner and founder of Scarab Bicycles, who was featured in the most recent chapter of G90, is just that. Besides being a road and gravel cyclist from a young age, he is also the owner of a prominent custom bicycle brand. This video describes Santi and one of his road/gravel routes near El Retiro, Antioquia, Colombia. Santiago took us on a short circuit starting from Scarab Bicycles, heading towards some gravel roads and then back.

We left Scarab just as the sun rose, around 5:45 A.M., taking some gently rolling and, fortunately, flat roads to start. Daniel Bedoya, our videographer and creative video director, on his motorcycle, followed Santi on his cream-of-the-crop Scarab gravel bike. The area around El Retiro is still very rural, with a mix of pine trees and tropical fauna, which makes a great backdrop for the Pink G90 Jersey. Soon enough, the rural adventure invited Santi to take us off the main road onto the first gravel path that led us deep into the countryside. With tall trees and secret unpaved roads, you can't help but feel completely disconnected from the main road and city life that was only a few kilometers away. In the video, you can see Santi delighting in the countryside and the pine trees around him. At one point during the ride, he simply laid his bicycle on the ground and stopped to contemplate his surroundings. Only while pedaling on these roads can you feel the clarity of the air and how the mind becomes sharper.

As we approached another gravel road that connected with the original route we had taken, Santiago packed his Gecko vest and ascended a small hill that connects the two paths. From here he sped down to the main road. It was clear that the route was very familiar to Santi, as he took every turn and every descent without any hesitation and with a big smile on his face. This precise moment epitomized the meaning of the completely disruptive synergy behind the G90. Every element working in unison, resulting in an unparalleled experience.

Back on the main road to Santi's house, it was just a matter of crossing an altitude of 2300 m and finishing the ride. Completely covered in mud sprayed from head to toe, cycling batteries recharged and soul motivated for the rest of the day. When we returned to the Scarab workshop, everyone on the team received a good coffee and we took a look at the content, and discussed the G90 Jersey and Santi's comments. The motto: "Designed at the edge of chaos" is often heard, but it couldn't be truer than for the G90. With its multiple fabrics, textures and shapes, it positions itself at the delicate limit of complete confusion and chaos. The route we took and the landscape couldn't be a better summary of the G90. It is a messy but elegant rural area, the adventure that takes you to the alternative route but will never let you get lost.
