At Givelo, we view our impact on the world as a great responsibility that we must always keep in mind with every decision we make. We like to see it as an ongoing project that accepts continuous improvements year after year.
Our mission is to ensure that our impact is positive. To achieve this, we have identified some key areas of impact:
FABRICS
- Use fabrics that are Oeko-Tex 100 certified and supplied by internationally audited suppliers.
What is Oeko-Tex? OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is one of the best-known certifications in the textile industry, evaluating and certifying that fabrics and materials are not made from toxic or highly polluting substances. It is a synonym for trust and safety for all users of high-end garments. - We pride ourselves on using novel and innovative fabrics.
- Almost all of our materials are Italian and French.
- Quality and durability result in long-lasting products with a long lifespan.
- The future is built on 100% recycled and bio-based fibers, and we expect to transition all our materials to either of these two categories by 2024.
PRODUCTION
- Our suppliers are an extension of our brand
- We work with local, socially and environmentally responsible manufacturers.
- The art of garment production is one of the biggest impacts we are continuously refining.
- We strive to be a truly global company, which is why we do not follow the seasonal calendar.
- Throughout the year, we release items in small quantities that we never repeat. This is how we maintain a streamlined approach to production and avoid overproduction.
Also, we always seek to produce all our products with local manufacturers in Medellín, Colombia. We believe in supporting local businesses and reducing unnecessary transportation and production steps. It is not an easy job, but our goal is to continue pushing to develop the technology of our textile industry.
